Common issues with fat loss
Fat loss can seem like a long and tedious process. Please remember, it is a process. We all want fast results, but somethings do take time. But there are things we can do in order to make this process as easy as it can be. Here are a few of the items people seem to struggle with the most and some possible solutions
Focusing on "diet foods" and always feeling hungry
When in a calorie restriction phase, some people may aim for foods that are labeled as "low-calorie" or "zero carb". Many of these items hold little to no nutritional value and will only lead you to feeling hungry again soon.
Instead, don't feel tied to these foods. Eat foods that you are comfortable with eating and aim for foods that are
🥑 high in protein & fiber
As well as
🥑 eat smaller and more frequent meals
🥑 set regular times for eating
🥑 dont avoid carbs just because
Consistency
Sticking to your plan can be difficult. How are we supposed to adhere to our new routine while keeping up with friends and family?
🥑 We must have enough flexibility to keep pushing towards our goals while allowing time for the rest of our lives. Keeping such a rigid routine may only hurt us in the long run. Provide yourself with a calorie range. This will help us to keep our routine while sticking to our calorie intake goals.
- Overestimating calories burned during exercise. Especially when we use fitness trackers that tell us we have burned "X" amount of calories. Many people take this as a cue to eat that many more calories in their day. This usually takes you out of your calorie deficit.
🥑 Stick to the calories you have set. You can always add more calories if you find you are needing more energy in your day.
- Low energy levels Feeling as though you don't have enough energy to get through your day?
🥑 Sometimes this can be brought on by knowing that we are out of our comfort zone and eating less than we usually do. Otherwise, reassess your plan. Ensure you are eating enough calories as well as intaking adequate amounts of carbs, fats, and protein.
- You've hit a plateau Feeling as though you haven't made anymore progress?
🥑 This is very common. Our body adjusts to what our new normal is. Sometimes a diet break may be needed. However, we can first adjust our caloric intake and readjust our macronutrient breakdown.
